It’s hard to round-up 2023, it feels difficult to round-up anything lately, globally speaking. We are bombarded by so much in our lives that living life simply seems quite hard sometimes. But looking more specifically at the hemp building industry it is hard not to be optimistic. Here in Europe there are new goals and legislations making buildings have better goals with carbon neutrality. Hemp will no doubt be a no-brainer in achieving this and that is evident with the investment of a hemp insulation factory being built in Sweden as well as many other companies continuing to grow and attract attention.
Globally new materials and solutions like margent farms bio hemp panels being a personal favourite of mine and hempwood’s beautiful flooring which through corona times they still managed to survive as a company and continue to grow. The varieties of panels and ways of building with hemp have also grown and developed, from acoustic panelling, premade hemp bricks, hemp insulation to prefabricated housing that see’s external walls for houses go up in a day.
