Using OSB almost every day on a job site you imagine the potential hemp has to replace wood OSB (Oriented Strand Board)
Used on almost every job site that I have been on OSB is used before the drywall to create a more solid wall and to have something solid to screw into such as handrails, cupboards etc. Its not often we build walls without having OSB in them. Plantd is behind the research and development of Hemp OSB.
Josh is Plantd’s movement builder. At Quidsi/Amazon, Josh led natural & organic e-commerce brand Vine.com. He’s built two sustainable furniture companies, and was CEO of the nation’s first innovation center for climate adaptation solutions.
Plantd turns atmospheric carbon into materials.
We manufacture low-price, high-performance building materials using ultra-strong, fast-growing plants that capture more carbon than trees.
By partnering with local farmers and selling to builders, we capture and sequester carbon in the floors, walls, and roofs of the places where we live, work, and play.
Equally exciting is structural and possibly even stronger dimensional lumber that is also under r&d. Have a look at their site at plantdmaterials.com
We’re looking forward to seeing upcoming developments from plantd.
Where can I buy Hemp OSB sheets?
Thanks
Hank
Hi Hank, We are not sure if this is a good lead but have a look at https://www.hemptraders.com/Hemp-Board-s/1937.htm
Plantd was origonally going to invest in hemp but I believe they went with grasses for other reasons possible ease of availability and easier production
Where can I purchase Hemp OSB sheets?
Thanks,
Hank
